Macauly Culkin in High Alone

Eyewitnesses reported that Macaulay Culkin addictively uses heroin and oxycodone with one source expanding that to include Percocet and Vicodin as well.  He uses with “junkies and lowlifes” in his apartment in New York which has turned into a “drug den.”  The sources say that the drug use has dramatically increased to a very concerning level since early 2011.  The National Enquirer published the story based on eyewitness sources August 1, 2012. Speculations for the increase of his drug use point to his break up with Mila Kunis after their romance.  She is now dating Ashton Kutcher whom she worked with on That 70’s Show.  Perhaps another element of his descent includes the emotions related to the death of his friend Elijah Rosello who he sometimes did drugs with and who … Read entire article »

The Economics of Gelling Agents in Drugs

The Economics of Gelling Agents in Drugs

Before I did heroin, I was all about the pharmaceutical opiates: Oxycontin, Opana, Methadone, Morphine, and Dilaudid- just to name a few.  I always knew what I was taking, what amount, and never had to worry about what sort of mystery cuts were added to the drug (you know, running the risk of shooting up rat poison, or worse).  Not to mention, there has always been a negative stigma attached to heroin.  It’s “dirty”. … Read entire article »

Florida’s New Safeguard for their Staggering Prescription Pill Problem

Our belongings were searched upon arrival and all approved prescription medications were held at the nurse’s office to be doled out as prescribed. Alcoholics will find all sorts of creative ways to get high and treatment centers must take precautions to prevent slips from inside the facility. Sometimes, the alcoholic has every intention of staying sober but a … Read entire article »

Washington State Enforces New Rules for Prescribing Painkillers

The New York Times is reporting that Washington State is apparently the first in the country to develop regulations to prevent doctors from prescribing dangerously high doses of painkillers. NYT writes, “The effort, in Washington State, represents the most sweeping attempt yet to stem what some experts see as the excessive use of prescribed narcotics, and it is being closely watched by medical professionals elsewhere. Among other things, Washington would apparently become the first state that would require a doctor to refer patients on escalating doses of pain killers for evaluation if they were not improving.” In Washington, prescription drug overdoses have become an epidemic, surpassing motor vehicle crashes among people ages 35-45. Experts in pain treatment and drug abuse prevention say the growing use of long-acting pain killers like OxyCotin, … Read entire article »

Locked Up But Not Loaded: Sober Inside The Lynwood Correctional Facility

Locked Up But Not Loaded: Sober Inside The Lynwood Correctional Facility

A couple of years ago, on a steady diet of booze and sedatives, waking up in my car with pee all over me and the seat, I would have laughed in disbelief at the thought that one day I would have to clean up the wreckage of my alcohol and drug abuse. I choose drugs over everything and everybody. I was reckless. The scariest part came when I unconsciously chose drugs over life itself, … Read entire article »
