New Hope Manor
New Hope Manor is a residential treatment community for women who are chemically dependant. It was established in 1970 by the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, on the grounds of Graymoor in Garrison, NY. It was borne out of Fr. Daniel Egan's experience with female substance abusers in Greenwich Village of New York City in the '60's.
The Manor was relocated to Barryville in 1985. It is now an independant, non-profit, non-denominational organization. It accepts residents from all ethnic and economic backgrounds. It offers high school diplomas through local school districts and on-site college courses under the accreditation of Marist College. It also offers a G.E.D. program, and a full range of vocational/educational services

Treatment Philosophy:
We accept only women
New Hope has served women, including pregnant women and adolescents, for more than 30 years. The unique needs of women often go unmet in male dominated coed programs. At New Hope, meeting these needs is our specialty.
We respect the dignity of each client
Our research based approach is motivational, rather than confrontational. New Hope respects each women as an individual with unique needs, and every effort is made to match program offerings to these individual needs.
We address more than just substance abuse
Long lasting, quality sobriety is best achieved by treating a human being rather than a diagnosis. New Hope offers program tools to develop personality characteristics and basic life skills that help make long term, high quality sobriety a reality for our clients.
