Where does an addict go when he or she has no insurance and little to no money? Alcohol and drug abusers feel as though they are out there all alone, and in many cases, they are. Families and friends tend to stop trying to help when an addict is incapable of listening or helping themselves.
In North Dakota, drug treatment and alcohol treatment centers are made available to anyone who is determined to kick habits and return to a drug or alcohol free life. Besides the treatment centers and recovery workshops available, the state has developed prevention programs to get ahead of these problems. There is a North Dakota Prevention Resource Center among others. There is also available, free of charge to anyone interested in prevention programs, a downloadable PDF brochure giving center locators, substances treated and explanations.
Alcoholics Anonymous is only one of the programs that can help an alcoholic to become sober. It has the famous 12 Step Program that has worked since AA's inception. With a system of 'sponsors' and complete anonymity if wanted, it is one of the world's largest support organizations. They welcome anyone and everyone at no cost.
The North Dakota Addiction Recovery programs are free to some and payment plans are available for others. The basis of determining the amount to be paid is whether or not an addict is working or has the ability to work. Check out our online resources for more information.
