Family Wellness and Recovery Services

Family Wellness and Recovery Services of NC, Inc. is a nonprofit agency located in Pittsboro, NC that offers residential treatment to pregnant women who have substance abuse disorders. FWRS operates the Hope Meadow program, which provides a safe haven for pregnant women and their children. Here, mothers receive the medical and psychiatric care they need in order to become substance free and complete a sustainable, healthy return to independent and responsible community life. Graduates of the Hope Meadow program may then choose to participate in the Continued Hope Aftercare program, which holds bi-weekly meetings focused on strengthening relapse prevention skills and achieving the goal of building a healthy, nurturing environment for their families and provides individual community support to participants.

The overall mission of Family Wellness and Recovery Services of NC, Inc. is: To work with community based organizations and volunteers to provide health and treatment services to women and their families; To help each client of our Hope Meadow program successfully engage in recovery, have a healthy infant, develop and positive parent-child relationship, and complete a sustainable return to independent and responsible community life; To assist each Hope Meadow graduate in strengthening their relapse prevention skills, achieving their individual goals related to their life in recovery, building a nurturing and healthy environment for their family, and being an independent and responsible member of the community through our Continued Hope Aftercare programs.
