About Us
Outreach, co-founded by Kathleen A. Riddle, the current President, began providing services in 1980. From an original grant of $60,000 for three employees, Outreach's leadership has facilitated growth to 200 employees and a budget of more than $13 million.
Outreach's first program was an assessment and referral center in Glendale, Queens where people were encouraged to seek help for their problems with substance abuse. As a provider of assessment and referral services, Outreach found many gaps in services for this population. Outreach responded by designing programs for those special populations, especially youth, for which services were not readily available. As a result, Outreach's services increased to include advocacy, adolescent and adult drug and alcohol treatment, vocational services and community and professional training.
Areas of Expertise
Outreach Project has been providing drug and alcohol services in the New York Metropolitan Area since 1980. Outreach's mission is: "To empower individuals, families and communities to make choices which will enable them to experience a responsible life free from alcohol and drug abuse."
