Freddy Sharp, 27, of (Name of Trailer Park remains disclosed) Tennessee, was recently filmed overdosing on Mephedrone or Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV), more commonly known by smoke shop frequenters as Bath Salts.  If we recall, on the 26th of May, Rudy Eugene  ( was shot and killed after gnawing at the face of a homeless man for nearly 18 minutes. It seems this drug has become a media craze the past few weeks. Why has there been so much attention drawn to this designer drug as of recent when it has been around for years? I think it’s safe to say the naked man eating a homeless person’s face off has something to do with it. What do you think a man’s face tastes like??

Bath Salts Mr. Sharp describes himself as “being possessed by Jason Vorhees” (Hayes, 2012). If you watch the video, he is clearly out of touch with reality. I’d have to say he looks like some sort of deranged candidate for the next Exorcist movie. We should seriously consider setting him and William Friedkin up. They would make millions.  Does he look possessed? Yes. By Jason Vorhees? Hellll no. He looks like a loon pending commitment to a psych ward, awaiting his shot of Thorazine.

I know people in the program who have overdosed on Bath Salts, via intravenous injection. They have sustained what I would best describe as extended amphetamine psychosis. They believe there to be insects crawling on their skin, and often develop some sort of damage to their cognition. They either: stutter, hear voices, suffer severe depression, or seem to have some sort of borderline personality disorder. Why is it that Mr. Sharp doesn’t seem to be suffering any such symptoms? This is a quite a salty situation we have on our hands.

When he was asked by reporter Don Lemon when the last time he used the drug was, he seemed rather uncertain. He had to sit and ask himself, on camera, “I’ve been clean, ummm, from Bath Salts and stuff for, uhhh, let’s see. God, how long has it been? Ummm, I would say a good 4 months from Bath Salts.” He is either suffering some sort of brain damage, or he racked up a line right before the interview. When somebody asks me when the last time I had a shot of heroin was, I can say without reluctance and hesitation, December 20th, 2011. It’s like using a fake ID at a liquor store without knowing the birth date posted on the ID. You kind of sit there; mutter a couple “uhhhhmmm’s” until you take a hopeful jab in the dark, hoping you got it right. WHAT AN IDIOT! If it were me, and I knew I was about to be interviewed on national television regarding my overdose, I would have a date predetermined. ESPECIALLY, if I knew I was going to have to bullshit. This Freddy Sharp definitely isn’t the SHARPest tool in the shed. I know I get nervous when put on the spot, but if I am telling my story, I will own what I say, and stay true to it. How it is no one has picked this guy apart yet?
