Regular Exercise Can Decrease Marijuana Cravings

Many individuals in the United States are addicted to smoking marijuana. While many don’t believe their pot smoking is a problem, it some cases it can be. Smoking marijuana can turn into a harmful addiction that needs treatment.

The University of Vanderbilt Medical Centre did a study on men and women addicted to cannabis and use it at least 20 days out of the month. The study lasted two weeks and the men and women had to run on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Results showed that after exercise participants had a 50 percent decrease in cravings. By the end of the study and after 5 sessions there was definitely a reduction in cravings.

“There is no way currently to treat cannabis dependence with medication, so this is big considering the magnitude of the cannabis problem in the US,” said Peter Martin, director of the Vanderbilt Addiction Centre.

The information gathered from this study has been a big help as this can only further lead in helping people who have an addiction problem.
