My Inner Leopard and Addiction

Power Animal and AddictionLeopards are very strong and powerful. They are sneaky and like to hide under the radar. The leopard is a very adaptable animal and can be successful in any terrain. Leopards energy will make you feel at home no matter who and where you are. They are very positive, and easy to get along with. If you treat them right. He likes to turn the attention elsewhere if he is involved. He likes to watch, rather than be involved.

If I were to be any animal, I don’t know if I would be a leopard, however, now that I think about it, the way leopards are is very similar to the way I act. In my addiction I would adapt to certain places and situations way too easily, and it would be easy for me to be comfortable. That is not necessarily always a good thing. Now that I am in recovery and I am not using, being able to easily adapt to new places is a very helpful. I believe it makes things a lot easier for me. It is easier for me to make new friends and open up to others.

Leopards also give off positive energy. It comes off instinct to make others feel comfortable.  When I am in a familiar group of friends, and there is someone new that is in the group, I usually stop talking to the familiar people and talk to the new person to make them feel comfortable within our group. Positioning himself (the leopard) is allowed to have the best advantage in most situations.

I have noticed with respect to myself that I try to stay under the radar, and I try to avoid attention as much as possible. I do not like negative attention, so if I know it is coming my way I will walk away. From what I have read about leopards, they do the same thing. What really grabbed my attention was after doing research about the animal, I discovered that Leopards are very adaptable to any situation. I can really adapt to that because it is not hard for me to make friends and feel comfortable at places. Sometimes that can be bad because I can get too comfortable too quickly; most of the time it is a good trait to have.

After reading about the leopard and doing this exercise, I noticed that there are definitely things in my personality that are the same with leopards. Leopards are very smart, powerful animals.
