Notes from an Observer 1

Random selections:

*Feeling discontent because my girlfriend, distracted, is not paying as much attention as I”d like, as I talk about my day. And yet I notice that sometimes, as she talks, I do the same. In these moments, all conversation seems absurd.

*Frightening (but true) phrase from a newspaper column about commuting: “my hatred of other drivers”.

*Jockeying still to be above it all, somehow.

*The ironic letdown of finally achieving what you want.

*The shift that occurs when one realizes, at last, that THIS…this moment…is all there is.
