A Sober Living Nightmare

A Sober Living Nightmare

I was lucky that the sober living home I had randomly selected happened to be a healthy, safe environment that was conducive to my recovery. I didn’t do any background checks, didn’t ask for suggestions from people I knew, and didn’t care, so long as I was off the street and given internet access and free use of my car. Amy Winehouse Died from Alcohol Poisoning

It was reported today that singer, Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning and not withdrawal as was previously speculated. While hardly anyone was shocked that the singer’s untimely death was caused as a result of her addiction problems, many would have expected a drug overdose to be the cause of her demise. Alcohol, while legal and socially acceptable is still just as deadly. Amy’s father Mitch was convinced that his daughter was sober at the time of her death, and she may have been claiming that to him and others. Alcoholics and drug addicts will often switch substances to try and manage or control their addiction. To those that have recovered … Read entire article »

In the age of reality television and internet superstars, our society is no stranger to the verbal diarrhea of attention seekers and fame mongers. Michael Lohan, is a notorious example.
