TI Arrest
The hip-hop industry has dramatically changed in the past 20 years of which it has been the predominant style in the music world. From DJ Hollywood hip hop music has revolutionized into artists such as KRS-One, LL Cool J, MC Hammer, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and Lil Jon. Hip-hop took a somewhat different turn in the music industry in the late 80’s early 90’s, the times of De La Soul and Public Enemy. It is a time that is known for its innovation and its influence on many of the artists of those years’ successors. The hip-hop of those days was fresh and not contrived like many of today’s artist. The artists of this time frame and even before were organic prodigies and not in … Read entire article »

Lindsay Lohan Wants her Career Back
It doesn’t matter what her issues are, but I will guarantee Lindsay Lohan won’t make much of an advance in her career, or even more so in her life, if she doesn’t get honest, If not with the public at least with herself and supporters. The ability she has to be a “damn good actress,” won’t save or destroy her life like the pushed down core issues she has. Respect might come from the “great movies,” she was in but that respect doesn’t last like a strong woman who walks with grace and dignity. It is easy to say that going out every night isn’t fun and that “it’s the same thing every time,” but once “dabbled,” and then sucked into a certain life style, it is hard to … Read entire article »

Salvia, Spice, Not Always so Nice
Control is a powerful ability that many have. What happens when a person loses their ability to control? In reality we can only control ourselves: the places we chose to be, the things we say, and the things we do. Morals and opinions often lead to misuse or loss of control. Let’s take the instance of person A. that does not like smoking and while at the bus stop is standing next to another person B. that is smoking. A cannot control whether B smokes, but A can control being around B. Instead of causing a scene because person A does not have control, they can change where they are standing to a further distance so the smoke doesn’t bother them as much. There are … Read entire article »

Paris Hilton Cocaine Bust
Lindsay Lohan’s rendezvous is FINALLY getting less press coverage. Lohan is old news but it looks like she kicked off another repeated sequence of celebrities and felonies. Paris Hilton, along with boyfriend Cy Waits, were arrested for possession of cocaine in Las Vegas late Friday night. Apparently Hilton was awfully embarrassed, there were multiple bystanders crowding around the black Cadillac Escalade her man was driving most taking pictures. Hilton and her boyfriend were pulled over because an officer smelled what seemed to be marijuana coming from the car. So overwhelmed by the crowd she asked if she could be taken inside. A metro lieutenant escorted Hilton into the Wynn Hotel. He instructed Hilton to place the purse she was carrying on a table in a security room. … Read entire article »

Addicted to Texting
Pagers, email, AOL, they are all forms of communication that are ancient in today’s society. Most popular way of communication? Text messaging. You can see it anywhere you go: church, walking down the street, driving, out to dinner, at the movies, it is the way of communication for much of the population. It is quiet, convenient and fast. The instant gratification of texting triggers the brains pleasure center and releases dopamine. Dr. Seyffert says the area of the brain that lights up when a kid texts is the same as when an addict using heroin. Many studies have shown that the average teenager sends and receives well over 3000 texts a month. Eighty percent of all kids have a cell phone and the text messaging rate has … Read entire article »

Lohan Misdiagnosed & May Leave Rehab Early
Doctors at UCLA’s Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Westwood are claiming Lindsay Lohan, who was sent to jail and rehab for her alleged addiction to methamphetamine and bipolar disorder, was misdiagnosed. LL has been weaned off all of her medications: Dilaudid, Ambien, Adderall, Zoloft, Trazadone and Nexium. Reportedly she has not shown any adverse reactions from not taking her meds, but she also did not have any withdrawal symptoms from alcohol. Doctors believe that Judge Marsha Revel “overreacted” when she sentenced Lohan. The doctors also found that Lohan does not have ADHD, which was why she had a prescription for Adderall. Doctors and psychiatrist say LL is not bipolar, but struggles with a personality disorder. The Los Angeles district attorney’s office has said that she may duck the full 90-day sentence … Read entire article »

Breathe In Mexico
Mexico seems to be getting the brunt of all the chaos that’s being caused from the drug cartels. Marijuana, crack cocaine and heroin, major transports from Mexico to the states, don’t seem to have as large of a market in Mexico. Leonardo Aguilar, 20, explains that he likes marijuana but it is just too expensive, so instead he inhales fumes from a “mona”, a scrap of cloth soaked with industrial solvents, which lasts about 10 to 15 minutes. To pay for his habit he collects shards of broken glass and lays on them while shocked commuters give him a few pesos. His habit is so extreme that he is living under a bridge in Mexico City. Inhalants are the drug of choice in Mexico because marijuana, crack, cocaine and … Read entire article »

What would this world be without charities, fundraisers, non-profit organizations and philanthropy?
